Good bye September!

We've been in Grade Two for a month! Time flies...
We are settling in to the routines and challenges of Grade Two.
Here's a peek into our week:

We are learning to control a soccer ball with our feet. It's hard to keep it near our feet!

We painted some LARGE crocodiles and alligators in connection
with the reading we've been doing about them.

We read about Corky and Allie, an alligator and crocodile who couldn't get along because they wanted to have more than what the other did. This tied in well with building community.

Then we read a non-fiction piece about crocodiles and alligators. Do YOU know some of the differences between the two? Ask your child.

Today in reading we practiced using our star (reading) strategies to figure out missing words.
It was good to discuss in small groups.

We're also learning about eating healthy. We are creating posters in
computer class and sorting in health class.
(check out our Fill It Up Challenge box. Overflowing!! Thank you!!)

Today we played the Food Sorting Game. First to the buzzer gets to answer!

We are all SO excited about Applefest. Hope to see you there!
